Mission of Kamp Kaleidoscope®
Kamp Kaleidoscope® offers a safe and fun residential camping experience for teens living with epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation Texas provides this unique opportunity at no cost to families of teens with epilepsy.
At Kamp Kaleidoscope® campers participate in activities promoting independence, self-confidence, competency, and social interaction.
Who can apply?
Teens ages 15-19 with the primary diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder.
Where is camp?
Kamp Kaleidoscope® is located at the YMCA Collin County Adventure Camp in Anna, Texas, just north of Dallas.
What do you do at camp?
Throughout the week, campers swim, boat, fish, take nature hikes, play group sports, and participate in arts and crafts projects.
Who is on staff?
At camp our camper to counselor ratio is 4:1. Counselors are selected for their experience and enthusiasm for working with teenagers. At Kamp Kaleidoscope® we are proud of our outstanding team of medical professionals from Children’s Medical Center of Dallas who are present during the entire week of camp. The staff allows our campers to have a safe, stable, and comfortable environment away from home.
