Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave®
June 15-21, 2014
Camp For All
Mission of Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave®
Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave® offers a safe and fun residential camping experience for children and teens living with epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation Texas provides this unique opportunity at no cost to families of children with epilepsy.
Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave® is the Foundation’s largest of three week long summer camps and is considered to be the largest summer camp for children and teens with epilepsy in the country.
At Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave® campers build self-esteem, create life-long friendships, participate in team building, and learn more about living with epilepsy.
Who can apply?
Children and teens, ages 8-14 with the primary diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder.
Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave® takes place at the beautiful and fully accessible Camp For All located in Burton, Texas (90 miles NW of Houston).
What do you do at camp?
Throughout the week, campers swim, boat, fish, take nature hikes, play group sports, and participate in arts and crafts projects.
Who is on staff?
At camp we are proud of our trained counselors (camper to counselor ratio is 3:1) and an outstanding team of medical professionals from Texas Children’s Hospital who are present during the entire week of camp. The staff allows our campers to have a safe, stable, and comfortable environment away from home.
