Stroll for Epilepsy

We are so grateful for everyone’s involvement in the Dallas / Fort Worth Stroll for Epilepsy! So far we have raised $135,000 but still have a long way to go to reach our goal of $180,000! The Donation Portal is still open so keep fundraising for your team or individuals and help the Epilepsy Foundation reach our goal! Sharon’s Ride.Walk

Please join us for our 1st Annual Sharon’s Ride.Walk on Saturday, April 29th at Gateway Park in Fort Worth. Bring your friends and family and enjoy at 13 mile scenic ride along the Trinity Trail, or a 1 mile walk in Gateway Park. Ongoing – Online School Nurse Training

Free, Accredited, Online!

With this nationwide training, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas’ goal is to educate 800 school nurses across our service area by the end of the year! Please help us reach out to your school district to schedule a presentation or encourage them to take an online course! Each school nurse who completes the in-person or online course receives CEU credit hours. Download flyer with additional details. Contact us at 888-548-9716 or at education@eftx.org for more details or any questions!


Ongoing – Online EMS Training

Free, Accredited, Online!

Sign up at http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/firstresponders/ and click: Access Trainings! Course code is 05.

The EMS course, about 60 minutes in length, describes a variety of seizures associated with epilepsy, seizures with other potential causes, appropriate EMS response on scene, and issues to be considered when determining whether or not further medical care is warranted. CECBEMS- approved CE lesson will award 1.5 hours of continuing education credit upon successful completion.

This group meets the 2nd Thursday of every other month from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in the Lower Level – Medical Center Pavilion.

Everyone in the family is invited, including siblings, whether or not they are a patient at Cook Children’s. Dinner is provided.

Collin County Support Group

Lone Star Neurology and VNS Therapy, along with the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas and other partners, host epilepsy meetings every third Thursday of the month from 7pm – 9pm.

Adults living with epilepsy and their families are invited to join these events to talk about navigating life with epilepsy. Throughout the year, guest speakers will join the meetings to discuss various topics related to epilepsy. Refreshments are provided.
